Alfredo Barbini:

Born in Murano in 1912. He studied at the Abate Zanetti 
Art School. At the age of 20 he worked for the Vetreria 
Franchetti and for the S.A.I.A.R. Ferro-Toso & Co. firm. 
After becoming a master glassblower, he worked for the 
Zecchin Martinuzzi firm, hereby together with the prestigious 
designer Napoleone Martinuzzi. For a short period in 1936 
he works for Barovier Seguso & Ferro .
In 1937 he joined V.A.M.S.A. and worked there during the 
wartime years. He became a partner in Vistosi's and then 
of Cenedese's from 1947 to 1950. During that year - 1950 - 
he opened his own glass factory.
He never stopped working until died in 2006. Nowadays the
factory is owned by his son Flavio.
